Color + Blonding FAQ
How do I know which hair color service to book?
Not sure what to book? That’s exactly what a color consultation is for. We’ll talk about your hair, what you love, what you’d like to change, and which of our color and blonding services makes the most sense for getting you there. Click here to book one.
Do you offer highlights and blonding services?
We do! From adding a little brightness and dimension to a bigger blonde transformation, we offer highlights and blonding services for a range of looks. Take a look at our Color + Blonding services to see what we offer.
Do you offer gray coverage and gray blending?
Absolutely. We offer both gray coverage and gray blending, depending on the look you want and how you’d like your color to grow out. Your stylist can help you decide what makes the most sense for your hair and the upkeep you’re comfortable with.
Do I need a consultation before booking hair color?
Not for every color appointment. But if you’re making a big change, have previous color we need to work with, or simply have no idea what to book, start with a color consultation. It gives us a chance to see your hair and talk everything through before we get started.
What is corrective hair color?
Sometimes getting from where your hair is now to where you want it to be takes a little more planning. Corrective color may be needed when we’re working with previous color, unwanted tones, uneven color, or a significant change. Every situation is different, so corrective color begins with a consultation.
Can I go from dark hair to blonde in one appointment?
Maybe, but not always. How light we can safely take your hair in one appointment depends on your starting color, previous color, condition of your hair, and your end goal. Bigger transformations may take more than one appointment. If you’re planning a major change, we recommend starting with a color consultation so we can see your hair and make a plan.
How often should I get my hair colored?
It really depends on your color and how you like to wear it. Gray coverage may mean more regular visits, while highlights or dimensional color can often go longer between appointments. Your stylist will talk through upkeep with you so you know what to expect.
Should I come to my hair color appointment with clean or dirty hair?
Please come to your color appointment with clean, dry hair. You don’t need to wash it right before you come in, but we recommend avoiding heavy product buildup, dry shampoo or oils before your appointment.
How should I prepare for my hair color appointment?
Come with an idea of what you’d like, and feel free to bring inspiration photos. It’s also important to share your recent color history with your stylist, especially any at-home color or previous lightening. For a bigger change, booking a color consultation first gives us a chance to see your hair and talk through what’s possible.
How much does hair color cost at Linear Salon?
Pricing depends on the color service you’re receiving and your stylist’s level. You can see our Color + Blonding services and pricing before you book. If you’re considering corrective color or a bigger change, start with a consultation so we can see your hair and talk through what it will take to get you there.
How can I keep my hair color looking great between appointments?
What you use at home really does matter, especially with color-treated hair. We love Kérastase and can help you find the shampoo, conditioner, treatment or styling products that make sense for your hair.
What if I’m not happy with my hair color?
We want you to love your look. If you’re unhappy with your service, please contact us within 48 hours so we can schedule a consultation and make any necessary adjustments.
